My World of Magic
Materials:
2 white sheets of paper
Red, yellow, and pink crayons
Yellow, orange, and blue feathers
Glue
A wooden stick
Process:
The goal is to create a mask. We will trace the children's hands and provide them with the colors to color their hands. If they already know how to use scissors, they will cut out their hands. If they don't yet know how to use scissors, we can cut them out for them. Once cut, we will glue the wooden stick and decorate them with colored feathers.
Domain:
Cognitive development and fine motor skills
Appropriate Age:
2-5 years old
Reflection:
I love doing this activity with the children because just the act of drawing their hands is very exciting for them. They love seeing their handprints. Creating puppets or masks and pretending to be someone else or hiding behind a mask is something I enjoy because being a child means having a lot of fantasy and imagination. The world of theater can be a great ally when working with children.
